The Story of Passion For Paper
Established in 1996, Passion For Paper is the first fine stationery store to have opened in New Zealand.
Whilst living overseas, founder and owner Kim Helas was inspired by the beautiful paper shops she visited in Italy, and wanted to bring these products to New Zealand so people here could enjoy them too - and so, on 30th November 1996, Passion For Paper opened its doors and New Zealand’s first fine stationery store was established.
We are passionate about the products we have selected for our customers; our suppliers have their own unique history and story of success, which brings a sense of nostalgia and provenance to each item we sell.
Our popular range of bespoke greeting cards are printed in short runs, on our signature deckle-edged card from Italy. Each card is then individually heat embossed by hand, to reveal its message with a luxuriously raised print finish.
We are fortunate to include in our range the wonderfully fragrant products of Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella - one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, established in 1221 in the ancient city of Florence. These heavenly fragrances complete the sensory experience of a visit to Passion For Paper.
